Prosciutto Wrapped Ontario Grilled Peaches

Sweet, juicy and delicious, peaches are one of nature's most luscious fruits. Living in southern Ontario, we're fortunate to enjoy an abundance of fruit every year from the fabulous bounty of the fertile Niagara peninsula. With it's unique climate and rich soil, the region accounts for 90% of Ontario's tender fruit crop — pears, peaches, prunes, sweet and sour cherries and plums — and 81% of Canada's peach harvest. Take a big bite, let the juice dribble down your chin and delight in Ontario's quintessential fruit of summer — fat-free, sodium-free and a good source of vitamin C, a perfect peach is a thing of beauty, a sweet and juicy ode to sunshine and blue skies.

Grilled Peaches with Prosciutto
Serves 4

2 ripe Ontario peaches, pitted and cut into 8 slices each
16 thin slices of prosciutto

Wrap each slice of peach with a thin slice of prosciutto and secure with decorative bamboo picks. Grill the peaches over medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side, until the peaches become slightly tender and the prosciutto somewhat crisp. To serve, arrange the grilled peaches on a decorative plate and enjoy.
