At ground level, Bangkok is crowded and overwhelming. Sixty-three floors up, it's a paradise of open space and tranquility. At the top of one of the city's tallest skyscrapers, the stunning rooftop open-air restaurant Sirocco dazzles with its uninterrupted views, and spectacular panorama of the Chao Phraya river and central Bangkok. Open to the heavens and offering succulent Mediterranean cuisine, Sirocco holds the honour of being the highest alfresco restaurant in the world. Perched on a precipice overlooking the city, the critically acclaimed restaurant takes guests on a culinary journey deep into the roots of authentic Mediterranean cuisine with continuously evolving seasonal menus crafted on ingredients sourced from around the world.
It is here that Chef Gonzalo Ruiz has unveiled one of Sirocco’s most ambitious presentations, the Heritage Collection, which aims to bring the very best of Mediterranean cuisine to Bangkok, using ingredients handpicked from around the world: almonds from Morocco, lobsters from France, Iberico pork from Spain, and represents an exploration into both the restaurant’s and the chef’s Mediterranean roots. Highlights of the menu include Brittany Diver Scallops with Iberian Chorizo, and Catalan Monkfish with saffron scented Spanish bomba rice rissotto, crisp cuttlefish in an ink sauce, in addition to Chef Gonzalo Ruiz's 7-course Chef's Tasting Menu, luxe Oyster and Caviar menu, as well as à la carte selections that include Ocean Prawn Tartar, Nova Scotia Lobster with homemade linguini pasta and Périgord black truffles, and 21-Day Dry Aged Prime US Beef with sweet potato, red onion, artichoke and buttered polenta with cèpes mushroom sauce. The dessert menu is equally heavenly. Offering stylish and sophisticated dining accompanied by live jazz seven days a week, an evening at Sirocco is considered a perfect dining experience but it comes a price, with dinner here being one of the most expensive in Bangkok, but the experience will live long in the memory of dining at one of Bangkok’s most iconic restaurants.
