Farewell Alhambra: Final Parador de Granada Dinner

Celebrating our last evening in Granada before driving to Seville, we enjoyed our final dinner at the beautiful Parador de Granada's signature restaurant Calle Real on the grounds of the world famous Alhambra. Seated at a window table overlooking the outdoor terrace and spectacular Generalife Gardens, we sampled more of Chef Juan Francisco Castro's Andalusian cuisine. Beginning with a light and delicious Duck Foie Gras Terrine with sweet wine Pedro Ximinéz in jelly, chestnuts and apples, we also shared a half portion of Jamón ibérico de bellota, and a local delicacy of Fried Broad Beans with fresh onions and Ibérico Jamón along with a bottle of the restaurant's Condes de Albarei Albariño white wine to enjoy with our meal. For entrées we chose the Traditional Lamb Stew with coriander and thyme and Roast Iberian Suckling Pig with confit, red pepper juice and mojo verde which was regally presented at the table under an elegant silver dome, served with the an elaborate Asparagus and Starfruit Salad with Spanish olives and sliced daikon radish. With the staff wishing us safe travels for the next leg of our journey, we bid them adieu and headed upstairs to pack for a beautiful cross country drive to Seville in the morning.
