A Culinary & Cultural Journey to Emilia-Romagna, Italy
March 14 - April 4, 2013
Scrumpdillyicious will be touring Emilia-Romagna - The Gastronomic Centre of Italy - from March 14 to April 4, 2013, exploring the rich cultural and culinary pulse of this beautiful region of central Italy. Join me online each day as we journey from London to Bologna and through Emilia-Romagna, capturing all of the robust flavours and breathtaking natural beauty of this rich landscape.
Our Culinary Journey will take us from our classic country villa overlooking the Tuscan countryside to Bologna, Parma, Modena, Ravenna and Rimini, birth place of Federico Fellini, to Ferrara, Faenza and San Marino, the oldest surviving sovereign state in the world. An ancient land which has been at the crossroads of many people and cultures for millennia, the Emilia-Romagna region is the heart of Northern Italy's most celebrated and authentic cuisines, the birthplace of such culinary treasures as Parmegiano-Reggiano cheese, prosciutto di Parma, aceto balsamico from Modena, home-made stuffed pastas, ragù alla Bolognese and other culinary treasures — vieni, andiamo tutti!
What a great trip! I'd love to go but I'll have to resign myself just with reading your blog.
